Ailments can be
treated in a wide variety of ways. Depending on the
indicated treatment, Dr. Wolf may incorporate many of her healing techniques
into a single chiropractic session. She may use Kinesiology to
determine the best method of treatment and may then incorporate traditional Chiropractic along
with Trigger Point Therapy.
Chiropractic
Chiropractic
is a healing art profession that uses a gentle hands-on approach to correct
imbalances in the body. This is a natural method of healthcare
that is focused on treating the root cause of physical problems,
such as neck or back pains, without the use of medication.
Chiropractors are
highly trained in working with the nervous system, which controls and
coordinates the function of every cell, tissue, muscle and organ in
the body. The brain and the spinal cord manage the body's vast
chemical interactions to help ensure proper function.
The brain
sends messages through the huge network of spinal nerves to deliver
information and this system coordinates the myriad chemical reactions
that dictate how well you sleep, how food is digested, your ability
to concentrate, physical coordination, the capabilities of the
immune system and all aspects of body function.
Chiropractic treatment
has
helped moms, dads, children, tennis players, golfers, gardeners,
office workers, asthmatics, and many others.
Applied Kinesiology
This
is special technique that was created by Dr. George Goodhart in 1986. Applied
Kinesiology is a specific form of diagnosis that uses functional neurological
muscle
testing as a primary feedback mechanism to help determine the cause
of an individual's chief complaint and to help evaluate the structural,
nutritional, and mental aspects of health.
This is a unique
approach to finding the imbalances of the body - bringing all the aspects
of the body mechanics and physiology into harmony to function optimally.
Applied Kinesiology
is interactive with the patient and assesses the nervous systems, lymphatic
drainage, the vascular supply to a muscle or organ, nutritional excess
or deficiency, problems with the cranial-sacral - TMJ mechanism, imbalances
in the meridian system, and a host of other problems.
Trigger Point Therapy
The Receptor-Tonus
Technique was developed by Raymond Nimmo
in the mid
1950's. It is also known as Trigger Point Therapy
and Nimmo Technique.
Trigger points are
painful areas ("trigger") in a muscle. The pain may
result from stress, overtaxing the muscle, injury, or from chemical
or environmental pollutants.
Trigger point therapy
involves locating the affected area and maintaining pressure on that
spot with a thumb, elbow, or knuckle, for a period of time until the
spasm inactivates.
Dr. Wolf incorporates
Trigger Point Therapy into her chiropractic adjustment sessions. This
treatment helps the body hold the adjustment for a longer period of
time.
